Positioning for opportunity in the NZ Home Building Sector

Positioning for opportunity in the NZ Home Building Sector

With the 2017 elections well and truly behind us and a NZ-First/Labour minority government in place, some relative certainty is returning to the housing construction market. The new government has committed to some major policy initiatives and among these are policies that will create new opportunities for new home builders.

Labour’s ambitious KiwiBuild policy commits to the construction of 10,000 affordable homes over 10 years. Affordable housing is classified as costing around $600,000 per dwelling.

To facilitate these construction and infrastructure commitments the new government is also set to review aspects of the Resource Management Act (RMA) with new spatial planning and enforcement provisions being suggested.

The Ardern government has flagged the establishment of a new urban development agency and a greater emphasis on public transport and light rail.

All this points toward a brighter future for those in the broader construction industry.

So is it boom times ahead for New Zealand’s home builders? While the sector continues to face challenges there’s no better time to position your building business to take advantage of these opportunities.

For motivated builders to reap these rewards will require an ability to adapt to changing circumstances and a real desire to succeed in a highly competititve environment.

How can you position your business to take advantage of these changes?

At Stroud Homes we have systems that are designed to get your business up to speed in a highly structured way.

It all starts with clear goals. When you start with Stroud Homes your first goal is to win the largest share of the new home building market in your exclusive area within two years of launch.

At Stroud Homes we want you to have clear goals because that’s one of the best and simplest ways to get your new home building business to where it needs to be.

Structured timelines

We use a timeline that helps new franchises build up to a fully staffed display centre only as they need to. This keeps your costs down and manages growth.

We put together a well thought out local area marketing plan that draws on years of experience in online advertising and search marketing.

Attract the best customers

Your aim is to get your business grown to a size so that you can attract the best customers and avoid highly demanding clients with endless custom requirements.

Stroud Homes designs are designed with features that really appeal to customers often with no need for added extras. Plus the designs have been fine-tuned to reduce build complexity.

This makes them easier for you to build for your favorite type of customer and allows more time for providing great customer service. Best of all they return a much greater profit than complex, custom builds.

Get in on the ground floor using the Stroud Homes system

A Stroud Homes franchise helps you ramp up to a new home building business much faster than would be possible using your own resources. If you’re ready to take your business to a new level then its time to talk to us at Stroud Homes.
